Upper Digestive Support Organic Herbal Tea Blend
Inspired by traditional digestive herbalism, Upper Digestive Support brings together aromatic herbs, earthy roots, and soothing botanicals. Refreshing peppermint, sweet fennel, and warming ginger complement traditional ‘bitter’ herbs such as dandelion root, while marshmallow root lends a naturally smooth character. Delicate calendula, raspberry leaf, and a touch of honey round out this pleasantly balanced, herbaceous blend. This tea is pre-sweetened with honey crystals. Taste test before adding any extra sweeter! Continue reading for more information on the herbs included in this blend.

Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) contains naturally occurring menthol and other aromatic compounds responsible for its distinctive cooling sensation. Traditionally considered a carminative herb in digestive preparations, peppermint contributes a crisp, refreshing flavor that complements the earthier botanicals.
Red Raspberry Leaf (Rubus Idaeus) contains naturally occurring tannins, flavonoids, and other polyphenols. Traditionally appreciated as a nourishing and astringent botanical in herbalism, raspberry leaf contributes a mild flavor reminiscent of black tea.
Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) contains flavonoids, triterpenoids, and carotenoid pigments. Traditionally valued for its soothing qualities in herbal preparations, calendula contributes delicate floral notes.
Dandelion Root (Taraxacum Officinale) contains ‘bitter’ compounds, including sesquiterpene lactones, along with inulin and other plant constituents. Traditionally valued as a digestive support botanical, dandelion root contributes a rich, earthy character to the flavor of this blend.
Cats Claw (Uncaria Tomentosa) contains oxindole alkaloids and polyphenols, which have been studied for their biological properties.
Marshmallow Root is rich in mucilage, a group of plant compounds that form a smooth, gel-like consistency when combined with water. Traditionally valued as a demulcent herb, marshmallow root lends a soft, silky quality to herbal preparations.
Angelica root (Angelica Sinesis) contains compounds including ferulic acid, polysaccharides, and aromatic phthalides such as ligustilide. Traditionally valued as a multipurpose herb, angelica contributes a warm, earthy character with subtly sweet and spicy notes.
Fennel (Foeniculum Vulgare) contains unique aromatic compounds, including anethole, which gives it its distinctive sweet, licorice-like fragrance. Traditionally valued as a carminative herb in digestive preparations, fennel adds a naturally sweet, aromatic character that balances the bitter roots.
Ginger contains gingerols and shogaols, which have been studied for their antioxidant properties. Traditionally valued as a warming botanical, ginger lends a pleasantly spicy, invigorating character to this soothing blend.
Honey has a long history of use in traditional herbal preparations and is naturally rich in sugars, with small amounts of antioxidant compounds. Its smooth texture and gentle sweetness complement the demulcent herbs in this blend.
