It’s especially lovely for caring for nipples that feel dry or tender from nursing and pumping.

Ingredients: Calendula, marshmallow root, plantain, St. John’s wort, mango butter, cocoa butter, arrowroot powder, vitamin E oil, extra virgin olive oil, and beeswax.

Directions: Apply a thin layer to skin as needed. Allow the salve to absorb into the skin and wipe away excess product before nursing or pumping.

Calendula (Calendula officinalis)
Calendula has a long history of use in topical herbal preparations. The flower is particularly valued for its soothing and conditioning qualities, making it a wonderful addition to formulas intended for dry, delicate, or easily irritated skin.

Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis)
Marshmallow root is naturally rich in mucilage—a group of slippery, soothing plant polysaccharides. These compounds give marshmallow its characteristic emollient qualities and make it a lovely herb for moisturizing and comforting dry, irritated skin.

Plantain (Plantago major)
Plantain has a long tradition of topical use among herbalists and is very commonly found in herbal salves. Its naturally occurring, moistening plant compounds make it particularly well suited to formulas designed to soothe and condition dry or stressed skin.

St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum)
St. John’s wort has a long history of external use in infused oils and traditional skin-care preparations. We include it in this formula for its skin-conditioning qualities and its traditional use in soothing botanical body-care products.
