Whether you're tending the garden, exploring a woodland trail, or simply enjoying time outside, this salve is handy to have!

Ingredients: jewelweed, plantain, calendula, extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, shea butter, arrowroot powder, castor oil.

Directions: Apply to desired area as needed. Do not get in eyes or mouth. This salve is safe to use on small scrapes and bug bites.

Jewelweed: Often found growing in moist, shaded woodlands and along creek banks, jewelweed (Impatiens capensis) is recognizable by its succulent stems, delicate orange flowers, and seedpods that burst open when touched. Its leaves and stems contains plant polyphenols, including flavonoids. Jewelweed has a particularly rich history in North American herbalism, where the plant has long been incorporated into topical preparations.

Plantain: A familiar sight in lawns, meadows, and along footpaths, plantain (Plantago major) contains compounds such as aucubin, allantoin, tannins, and mucilage. These constituents have made plantain an interesting subject in botanical and cosmetic research, as they contribute to the moisturizing qualities of the plant.

Calendula: Known for its vibrant golden-orange blossoms, calendula (Calendula officinalis) contains naturally occurring triterpenoids, flavonoids, and carotenoid pigments. Calendula is widely used in modern skin care, particularly in formulations designed to soften, moisturize, and condition the skin.

Extra virgin olive oil and castor oil provide a rich, emollient foundation for the herbal infusion, helping soften and condition skin after a day spent outdoors.

Shea butter and beeswax lend the salve its smooth, protective consistency, helping reduce moisture loss and leaving skin feeling supple.
